Finalizing Fun Run
If all pledges are turned in, our school will benefit over $41,000. Way to go, everyone! Many donations were processed over the weekend. Please contact those donors that have not yet sent in their payments. The pay online option is easy, convenient, and helpful for us in bookkeeping. Also, ask your employer if they participate in corporate matching gift programs. If so, forms can be sent to Elizabeth Purdie at etpurdie@yahoo.com Please email Candler at candlertindall@gmail.com if your child has not received a prize that was due to them. Soles for Souls Ms. Blacker is coordinating a shoe drive to benefit victims of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti. If you would like to participate, new or gently used shoes can be left in the box in front of the main office. The collection will continue until Friday. Contact Ms. Blacker at robin.blacker@cms.k12.nc.us with questions or check out the website at www.soles4souls.org Tech Crew PTO is putting together a group of somewhat tech savvy volunteers to support Ms. Clements and the technology available to students. The ability to follow simple directions and about 1 hour of your time per week are the only requirements. Contact Lin Leslie if you are interested in helping get more technology available to teachers and classrooms. Email Lin at linwleslie@yahoo.com. From email delivered 10/16/16
Thank you to each and every person who worked to improve Fun Run and all of your efforts and willingness to implement the new online pledging components and daily prizes. We have the most amazing staff, students, parents and donors. Fun Run Updates Pledges are in, and the students have completed their laps. Now it's time to collect the pledge money and send it in to be counted. Envelopes will be collected all week and are due by Thursday, October 20th. Checks can be made to Lansdowne PTO. Donors can also pay online with credit card. Because of the new automated system that we are using, the maximum number of laps that can be entered for pledge payment is 35. This is fair to donors who were told that students would run between 30-35 laps. Some of our students ran even more than 35 laps on Friday. If that is the case, their laps completed will appear as 35 on www.funrun.com. Fun Run Prizes In distributing prizes to 100s of students, it is possible that a few students did not receive prizes that were awarded on their personal dashboard on www.funrun.com. If your child did not receive a prize that they earned, please email Candler at candlertindall@gmail.com with the student name, teacher name, pledge level per lap, and prize that was not received. We will work to resolve any concerns about prizes. Snack the Staff A is for Apple! This month's Staff the Staff will be topping apple slices with a delightful assortment of items. We are in need of apple slices to be sent in on Wednesday morning by10:45 am. A volunteer is needed to host and clean up. Please see the sign-up below to see what is needed. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0944afa92d6-snackthestaff5 Quick Reminders:
Send in your Box Tops on Tuesday for our first collection of the school year. Last year. we earned $600 for our school just by clipping and counting tons of tiny Box Tops. Fun Run Friday: Thank you to everyone who has supported their children in collecting pledges, helping deliver prizes, volunteering to help set up on Thursday, or helping facilitate the run on Friday. We are especially thankful to all of the teachers who have updated their pledge-o-meters daily and spent extra time and effort with the new additions this year. Pledges can still be collected all week. Please update the signup genius if your ability to volunteers has changed. We now need about 15 more volunteers to mark laps as the kids run by each marking station. http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e044caaad2fa75-2016 PTO Meeting Minutes Our second PTO meeting was held Tuesday, Sept 27th. Chick-fil-A Night Each month the PTO sponsors a fundraising night at Chick-fil-A in the Arboretum from 3-8 pm.
